Plasma Injections May Strengthen Back Muscles

One cause of chronic low back pain may be weak or atrophied muscles in the lower back, which normally help stabilize the spine. Researchers at Zagazig University in Egypt tested a technique for strengthening atrophied back muscles by injecting them with plasma, the colorless fluid component of blood, which is rich in substances called growth factors.
